What is the CVSA International Roadcheck?

The CVSA International Roadcheck is the world’s largest targeted enforcement program on motor vehicles, with nearly 15 trucks and motorcoaches inspected, on average, every minute across North America.

It is an annual three-day event where CVSA-certified inspectors conduct compliance, enforcement and educational initiatives targeted at various elements of motor carrier, vehicle and driver safety.

What is this year’s vehicle focus?

Taking place May 13-15, the CVSA International Roadcheck 2025's vehicle focus is tires. Proper tire maintenance is critical to the safety of your truck. Tire failure while in transit can cause significant delays, expensive repairs and is a hazard to all motorists. Keeping your tires in good condition and replacing them when necessary is key to your safety and success.

What do inspectors look for at the CVSA International Roadcheck?

During the tire inspection of a commercial motor vehicle, the inspector will look for:

  • Low tread depth
  • Audible air leaks
  • Flat tires
  • Belt material or casing ply exposed in the tread or sidewall
  • Tread or sidewall separation
  • Bulges in the sidewall
  • Improper repairs, such as rubber-coated plugs in the sidewall
  • Items lodged between dual tires
